Sea Legs Yacht Stabilization Systems

Yacht Stabilization Underway and at Anchor
Roll, Pitch and Directional Stabilizers
Patent Pending

Sea Legs Yacht Stabilizers provide the ultimate level of comfort against all uncomfortable motion created by wind and sea.

Models Available:

Total Pleasure Stabilization: Sea Legs "Total Motion" provides complete motion control underway and at anchor. This Sea Legs system offers an exceptionally low drag to lift ratio, which induces little to zero speed loss. This equates to lower fuel costs, compared to most roll-fin systems.

Motor Yacht Stabilizers: This model provides complete motion control underway, with active hydraulic control. Like the Total Pleasure model, this model also offers exceptionally low drag, which induces little to zero speed loss. This equates to lower fuel costs, compared to most roll-fin systems.

Boat Stabilizers: With this system, the engineered shape of the T-Foil itself, induces considerable stabilization underway even with no hydraulic actuation. In itself, this is a considerable achievement of this unique design. This means that owners of smaller yachts and boats are now able to include stabilization in their budget.

The overall cost of the parts and installation are lowered considerably since no hydraulics and electronic controls are necessary. The T-Foils are mounted at a fixed angle of attack, which allows basic roll, pitch and directional stabilization underway only.

High-Speed Pleasure Yacht Systems: Traditional Roll fin stabilizers are typically limited to a maximum speed of approximately 24 knots. This varies with vessel design. Sea Legs provide complete motion stabilization at high speeds. Directional stabilization in following sea is exceptional. This is a feature roll-fin systems can't accomplish. At rest , these yachts enjoy the benefits of at-anchor roll control.

Sport Fish Stabilization: Sea Legs unique transom mounted design eliminates the chance of lines catching fins located along the outer hull length. The soft edges of Sea Legs T-Foil design acts to deflect the line away from the running gear and rudders.

When interfaced with our directional thruster controller, roll stability is now possible while the fish is brought aboard. Wallowing in the trough of the swell is no longer a factor. The thruster system automatically maintains heading set by the operator for best comfort.

Commercial and Naval Vessels: Controlled Motion Engineering designs custom stabilizer and motion inducing devices to fill the extraordinary needs of commercial craft.

Military Motion Systems: Controlled Motion Engineering works to provide custom stabilization and motion simulating platforms which test military equipment and components under induced stress scenarios at sea and on land.

Dependable Comfort At Sea

Sea Legs engineers designed a system which is based on the aircraft standard of providing back up reliability. Our designers are well aware that it is not possible to "pull over to the side of the road". Systems are designed for dependable service. In case of damage, the computer controller is programmed to override damaged components and provide fail-safe reliability. The controller provides error codes to notify the captain when a problem is discovered by the system. The computer automatically shifts to back-up mode. Stabilization underway is reduced only slightly.

In addition, the engineered shape of the T-Foil itself, induces considerable stabilization underway even with full failure of the hydraulic control system. In itself, a considerable achievement of this unique design.

Sea Legs Set A New Standard

The traditional standard in yacht stabilization is to promise a 90 percent reduction in roll. Sea Legs provide an additional overall increase in comfort. The ability to control pitch and directional stability provides an increase in the feeling of comfort enjoyed by your guests. Stabilization at low speeds and at anchor adds to this increased comfort level your guests enjoy at all times aboard your yacht.
